Wombat

The Southern Hairy-nosed Wombat, perhaps not as well-known as their Common Wombat cousins, is in fact the faunal emblem of South Australia.
 
They live a challenging life in extremely dry parts of the state and often have unfortunate experiences with cars and farmers. I feel incredibly privileged to have been able to observe and photograph this healthy wombat in the wild.
